Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre hosted a “Financial wellbeing” course in October 2023, over four weeks and specially designed for participants from Noweyung and Interchange in East Gippsland.

It has been developed to support learners with a focus on providing information to assist them with financial independence and support them in life, employment and education opportunities as well as providing a range of other support information.

The focus was on:

Setting spending and saving goals
Budgets
Mindful spending
Relationships and money
Talking about money
Dealing with debt
E safety

The program was a fantastic success with supportive learning environments, small class sizes, safe classroom environments and flexible learning responsive to the needs of the individual. A highlight on the last day was a celebration with completion certificates handed to participants by Jack and Marsha from the Paynesville Bendigo Bank.
