Learn Locals are friendly and welcoming, with qualified teachers who are focused on helping you to succeed.

In over 20 towns across Gippsland, there are 24 Learn Local providers. They offer a range of education and training programs designed to meet your organisational or personal needs.

There’s a government registered Learn Local in your community that can empower you or your team to:

  • Undertake a pre-employment course to help you get a job

  • Improve your digital literacy and computer skills

  • Improve your reading, writing and maths skills

  • Improve your financial literacy skills

  • Return to study and gain a qualification

  • help develop your employability skills

Learn Locals offer programs that are designed to help you gain the confidence and skills needed to look for a job or go on to further study. Learn Locals are friendly and welcoming, with qualified teachers who are focussed on helping you to succeed.

The programs are designed to help you gain the confidence and skills needed to look for a job or go on to further study. They include courses in communication, job search skills, getting ready to go back to work and literacy and numeracy.

We focus on developing those very important employability skills and pre-employment courses such as Kick-start your Career in Disability Support or Health, include observational work experiences as well.

Learn Local organisations work with learners and businesses to tailor their programs to individual needs and goals.

Programs and courses are delivered in a variety of ways including in informal learning environments at the organisation, which includes blended learning, ie a blend of online and classroom tuition.

How and when can you enrol?

Enrolment requirements vary across Learn Local organisations. You might need to enrol in person, or be able to enrol over the phone, online or by mail. For pre-accredited training programs, as these are often shorter courses, you can enrol in courses anytime from February to November.
